hELLO! I'M DANI,
I believe that documenting and being inspired by my histories is an act of revolution. I'm a multi-media creative storyteller & writer born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and currently based in Boston, MA.
My stories highlight the lives of those I love and those I have learned from. I have heard the most riveting tales of love, passion, community, family, and spirit around dining room tables in towns forgotten by the rest of the world.
I tell these stories because they taught me how to be a person navigating a complex and often challenging world. I hope to decorate this space with many mirrors, so whoever encounters it finds beauty in our shared experiences.
You are welcome here.
S E L E C T W O R K S
I am a writer,
and I am committed to my craft. Every opportunity I get to be in community with others who share my devotion for this practice is healing and highly necessary. I have made it a priority to be involved with several writing collectives in my city. I had the opportunity to serve as a Facilitator for Grubstreet's Muse & the Marketplace Conference, and I am a current Fellow for the Writer's Room of Boston.
I write about girlhood, mostly. Considering all the women and girls that came before me, I aim to celebrate them. I share and invent the stories of when they fearlessly pissed people off, did good and bad, and for whom I am thankful.
They created my tapestry of self. What I put in paper are love letters to everything that has ever happened to me, and to us.
